Dedicated Deployment
Dedicated Deployment is the non-SaaS Markshles EDU model for institutions that require a separate installation or infrastructure arrangement.
How it is billed
Dedicated pricing is separated into clearly identified components:
- Software license: annual or, when expressly offered, a perpetual license for a specified version.
- Initial deployment: one-time charge for installation, configuration and launch work defined in the proposal.
- Markshles-managed dedicated hosting: monthly or annual charge only when Markshles provides and manages the infrastructure.
- Maintenance and updates: separate charge defining the period in which support and/or updates are included under the agreement.
Annual Dedicated License
The institution receives usage rights during the contracted period. Renewal extends the license. After expiration, the license may enter a grace period and later expire according to the applicable agreement.
Perpetual Version License
When expressly offered by Markshles, this allows the institution to continue using the licensed version without that version expiring. It does not mean future major versions, maintenance, hosting or support are permanent. Those services have their own term and price.
Customer-Managed Hosting
The institution provides and manages a compatible server. Technical requirements, server security, backups, availability and infrastructure responsibilities are allocated according to the agreement.
Markshles Managed Dedicated Hosting
Markshles may provide dedicated infrastructure as a separate service. Hosting is not automatically included in the software-license fee and can renew monthly or annually.
Source code and intellectual property
Dedicated Deployment is not an automatic source-code sale. Paying license, deployment, hosting or maintenance fees does not transfer ownership of Markshles EDU. Any source-code access, modification or transfer rights require a written agreement that expressly grants them.
Modules and limits
Each license can specify authorized modules, maximum students, maximum staff, authorized domain, Installation ID and entitled version. Functions outside the license may require an expansion or new quotation.
Quotation and agreement
Before activating a dedicated license, Markshles can issue a quotation separating license, deployment, hosting, maintenance, taxes and additional services. The license can be linked to the applicable quotation and contract.
