Cloud SaaS
Cloud SaaS is the standard managed way to use Markshles EDU. Your institution receives an approved school workspace within the Markshles EDU platform without needing to deploy or maintain the application on its own server.
What Markshles manages
Markshles manages the central application environment, platform updates and core SaaS administration. The school manages its own authorized users, roles, institutional configuration and data within the capabilities included in its subscription.
School isolation
The platform is designed as a multi-school environment. School users are intended to work only with the data belonging to their authorized institution. Platform-level administrators have separate responsibilities for SaaS administration, support and configuration.
Plans and modules
Cloud SaaS access follows the assigned plan. Plans may define student and staff limits, trial periods and available modules. The school then uses internal roles and permissions to determine which authorized employees can use those modules.
Advantages of the managed model
- No application installation is required by the school.
- Platform updates are coordinated centrally.
- Subscription and plan management are handled through Markshles.
- Schools can focus on configuration and operations rather than application deployment.
- New modules and improvements can be delivered through the managed platform.
What the school remains responsible for
The school is responsible for accurate data, appropriate user access, internal policies, required notices and consents, lawful use of student and family information, and any regulatory obligations that apply to the institution.
Cloud SaaS is a service subscription. It does not transfer ownership of the Markshles EDU software or source code.
